Announced in December 2007, the Verzio® Duplii is supposedly the world's first 3G dual-SIM phone. The company Verzio® world, which is headquartered in Singapore, also has concept stores and customer care facilities in the Philippines. Given that it's still a relatively new startup, the range of Verzio®-branded handsets is, to some degree, limited.
Besides the Duplii, the company has another dual-SIM phone (without 3G) in its lineup and a Windows Mobile Envii handheld.
Now that we are acquainted with the company, we are going to be blunt here. If your world of mobile phones has been dominated by the likes of Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson, you are not going to be very impressed with the Duplii.
Design
Although the build quality is plasticky and the design nothing to shout about, we feel the handset is still a rather decent, if not utilitarian effort, from Verzio®. It may not be the slimmest or the most eye-catching, but you also won't get the feeling that the phone will shatter with minimal effort.
Around the front, the subtle brushed-striped surface, which is getting rather common these days, is quite similar to some of the ones from the major manufacturers. What's interesting on the Duplii are the two call buttons instead of the standard pair of call and end keys. The reason for this is ingenious: You get a dedicated call button for each of the SIM cardsin the phone.
The SIM card on the left slot behind the battery will always be your primary line. Likewise, when you flip the phone onto its front, pressing the left call button makes an outgoing call from your primary number. Since there's no end button, the right softkey doubles to end an active line.
Unlike most phones with 3-by-4 alphanumeric keypads, the one on the Duplii follows a 4-by-3 configuration. So your *, 0 and # buttons are in a column on the right of the keypad. After a week, we found that it didn't really matter whether it was 3-by-4 or 4-by-3 as the learning curve was very gentle. Most people should be able to get used to it with a little practice.
Elsewhere on the phone, there's a front-facing camera above the LCD with the volume control, mini-USB and power button on the left. The microSD expansion card slot is on the right with the camera shutter. Given its size, we expected a 3.5mm audio jack on the Duplii, but this isn't the case. It comes
with the smaller 2.5mm option instead.

Power of Connection
VERZIO Duplii
This handset prides itself as one of the first dual active SIM 3G-enabled mobile phones to hit local shores. But being one of the first
to own one of these phones doesn't mean you're just following a fad. No doubt, you get premium communication benefits from simple voice calls and text messages, to video calls, while using more than just one network at the same time.
VERZIO Twinn
If the Duplii is one of the first 3G and dual-SIM handsets, then the Twinn is part of that exclusive club, but in a sleek slider form
factor and with 2.75G capabilities. More than the looks, it surpasses the common methods of communitcation, thanks to its dual-SIM nature and its suite of connectivity options. There is also the intuitive touch screen LCD where messages can be handwritten with the very handy stylus.
